Mr Peiro Fassino is due to arrive to Thailand on Sunday as his first leg of tour to the countries in the region to find solution on Burma. In Bangkok, he is scheduled to meet with diplomats including Western diplomats from embassies in Rangoon, a spokesperson of Mr Fassino has said.
The Italian diplomat who has been appointed as a special envoy for the EU on Burma also travelled to New York earlier this month and met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and his special advisor on Burma, Ibrahim Gambari.
He has also planned to travel to Indonesia after his visit to Thailand.
